Brief Biography:

After completing 2 years of undergraduate studies in Biomedical Biology at Laurentian University, I transferred to McMaster for the new Biomedical Discovery and Commercialization program. I completed my senior thesis in a chemical engineering lab working on POLAMA-b-POEGMA copolymers for nanoparticle based drug delivery.

Outside of the lab I compete for the Varsity Cross-Country/Track team, work as a Supervisor for Intramural Sports, and am part of the Athlete Academic Mentor Team. I also act as a part-time consultant for McMaster Industry Link.

Some fun facts about me: I love horseback riding, I am fluent in French, and I have been to Machu Picchu!

Research Interests:

I am interested in the development of biosensors employing functional nucleic acids. More specifically, I am working to design a biosensor for the detection of Legionella pneumophila, a deadly water-borne bacterial pathogen.
