Brief Biography:
Jing is a biosensor scientist. She has background knowledge in chemistry, nanomaterials, macrobiomolecules and surface science. She has developed biosensors
using DNA and proteins as sensing probes, and gold nanoparticles, conjugated polymers, DNA staining dye and electrodes as the readout. Currently she is developing colorimetric bioactive paper for inexpensive, everyday use. She has published papers in Anal. Chem., Adv. Mater., Nano Lett., etc.
In her leisure time, she likes doing yoga, playing badminton, listening music, learning new dishes, hiking, and hanging out with friends.
"My definition of happiness is…to do a good job, to take good care of my family and friends, to inspire and be inspired, to be responsible, and to fulfill myself."
Research Interests:
My research focuses on the field of biosensors, and specifically, on these key aspects of bioactive paper: investigation of the surface chemistry of paper, immobilization of biomolecules in their native state, readout strategies for high sensitivity and specificity, dynamics of the interface reaction, biosensor robustness, etc. I am excited to uncover and optimize the vast biosensing capabilities of bioactive paper!
